Role Description

Veterans and First Responders Wanted

We are looking for an experienced Over-the-Road (OTR) Van or Flatbed Truck Driver to contribute to our quickly growing team operating in all 48 contiguous states. He or she will be responsible for transporting and delivering freight over long distances in a timely, legal, safe, and efficient manner. The Over-the-Road (OTR) Truck Driver will perform routine inspections and will carry out preventative maintenance on company equipment.

He or she will assist in loading and unloading freight and will complete all necessary paperwork as required by state and federal laws. The Over-the-Road (OTR) Truck Driver will be responsible for reporting traffic violations, road accidents, and vehicle breakdowns to management and will notify the dispatcher and customer of any schedule delays. He or she will always represent the company in a professional manner.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Pay per mile $0.40-$0.68 per mile
  • A $4000 sign on bonus, paid out as below:
    • $500 received in the first week of employment
  • $500 paid out in the first 30 days of employment with first load pulled
  • $750 received during each of the 3rd, 6th, 9th, and 12th months of employment
  • Dental, Vision, and Health Insurance is provided after the first 90 days of employment
  • A 2-day orientation

Job requirements

OTR Truck Driver Job Duties:

  • · Safely and efficiently transport freight between various locations over long distances
  • · Perform truck inspections before/after each trip to ensure all mechanical systems are in working order
  • · Complete all necessary paperwork and maintain records required under state and federal laws and regulations
  • · Maintain a logbook detailing the hours traveled, rest periods, miles covered, as well as all fuel, repair, and toll expenses
  • · Assist in loading and unloading of freight into and off the truck. Perform lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying freight.

Position Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years driving experience with a verifiable Class-A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • Be at least 25 years old
  • Have a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MRV) and be able to explain any tickets or accidents on record
  • Have a clean Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP) and be able to describe any violations during dot inspections, whether equipment or driver related
  • The ability to sign an employment agreement with Maximus Logistics with an agreement to maintain employment for 90 days – if this is not met, you agree to refund all costs and travel expenses related to orientation and/or bonuses received within those first 90 days
  • Ability to be out on the road for 5-7 days at a time and remain alert for periods of up to 11 hours
